In celebration of the centenary of Einstein’s publication of general relativity, the Rotman Institute of Philosophy celebrated Einstein@Rotman — a year-long program of events, including an academic conference, a successful series of public lectures, and finally, an interactive exhibit for both scholars and the general public; Einstein – Philosopher | Scientist: 100 Years of General Relativity, centred around the stunning successes and enduring significance of his ideas.
This coming Saturday, December 12th, will be the final day of the Einstein exhibit, and will mark the close of the year-long Einstein@Rotman theme. To celebrate the occasion, we will be hosting a special closing day reception. For those who already visited the exhibit, but wish to return once more, or for those who haven’t had a chance to see it yet, this will be the final day to tour the exhibit before it is gone. We will be holding giveaways of different items related to the exhibit including laser pointers (great for delivering presentations!), copies of the Einstein ‘Miracle Year’ poster, and the highly coveted ‘Sexy’ Einstein t-shirt. This will also be the final day to enter our online giveaway for an equivalence gadget — a replica of one Einstein received as a birthday gift.
The closing reception will take place on Saturday, December 12th, from 12:00 – 5:00 pm. A selection of seasonal refreshments will be served. The SATELLiTE Project Space, where the exhibit is being held, is located just around the corner from the Covent Garden Market, at 121 Dundas Street. What a great way to spend a Saturday in December — check out the Einstein closing reception AND sneak in some local holiday shopping!
As with the exhibit itself, the reception will be free and open to the public — bring the whole family. Please join us as we celebrate the final day of our first ever interactive exhibit!
