This past weekend, I [Rotman Postdoc Dan Hicks] attended the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science [AAAS] in Chicago. I presented a poster discussing my current work, on the controversy over genetically modified foods, and was interviewed with a writer at ScienceNOW, the news blog at Science/AAAS. Check out the interview here: http://news.sciencemag.org/scientific-community/2014/02/qa-why-are-we-still-shouting-about-gmo%E2%80%99s
AAAS was a great opportunity for me, as a philosopher of science, to interact with scientists and science writers. I highly recommend it to other philosophers of science.
