Graduate Interdisciplinary Research Accelarator Fund (GIRAF)

Graduate research training plays a fundamental role in the activities of the institute. The goal of the Graduate Interdisciplinary Research Accelerator Fund (GIRAF) is to support research undertaken by graduate or post-doctoral trainees at the intersection of the humanities and the sciences. Trainees supported by the GIRAF become members of the institute, if they are not already, and are expected to participate in interdisciplinary activities such as coffee hours, reading groups, and other research events, as appropriate.

Program Aim

  • enhance trainees research skills
  • build experience with interdisciplinary collaborations
  • position teams for major grant applications
  • advance research work and knowledge
  • achieve greater research impact
